Four gruesome murders, and DCI Danny Flint is feeling the heat.

The unsolved murders of two elderly women have been keeping Detective Chief Inspector Danny Flint of the Major Crime Investigation Unit awake at night.

It doesn't help that one of the victims was the mother of the chairperson of the Nottingham Police Authority. With the bereaved councillor leaning heavily on the chief constable, demanding answers now, the last thing Danny needs is another case to crack.

But then a Scottish businessman is found dead, his tortured body bound with a peculiar knot.

Then another body is discovered, tied up using the same unusual technique. It can't be a coincidence, but this new victim met her gruesome fate over fifteen years ago. So how are these two cases linked?
