Built-in appliances fill today's high-end kitchens, in which seamless integration with cabinetry can pose technical challenges related to airflow restriction in a machine's compartment. This problem is exacerbated by dirt accumulation on the condenser (heat exchanger), which can affect appliance performance.
Experimental evaluation of dirt accumulation on condensers is time-consuming and expensive. Consequently, Sub-Zero is coupling Ansys Fluent computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and Ansys Rocky discrete element modeling (DEM) to quickly gain insight on the mechanisms behind dirt accumulation in an effort to design a more robust heat exchanger.

New Particle Features
Particle porosity was included as particle group property.
The "Particle In Mass" and "Particle Out Mass" curves were replaced by "Particle Mass Flow In" and "Particle Mass Flow Out" curves, respectively.

-The rendering performance and solver performance of wall triangles was improved.
-The mass flow calculation performance of the Surface User Process was improved.

-A tool to manipulate the Surface User Process on the 3D view was added.

New CFD Coupling Features
-The parameters of the Proportional-Integral controller of the CFD 2-way Semi-Resolved method were exposed in the UI.
-A residual for the Proportional-Integral controller of the CFD 2-way Semi-Resolved method was added to the Fluent convergence criteria.
-The possibility to apply lift and torque forces on particles using CFD 2-way unresolved coupling was added.
New Workbench Coupling Features
-Support for adding initial fluid field for CFD 2-way coupling simulations through Workbench was added.
-API:Solver and API:PrePost Improvements
-A new support for SPH custom thermal models was added.
-A new column named "tag" was included on the custom fiber input file. Such column can be used to assign custom values to fiber elements that will be used by API:Solver modules.
-Curves and properties created through API:PrePost scripts are now saved in the project.

-The problem where the shell elements would have the wrong orientation when the project was resumed in a different operating system was fixed.
-The problem that was preventing the import of a Fluent case with more than 20 cell zones was fixed.
-A problem that was causing particle temperatures to have wrong/scrambled values after restart was fixed.
-A problem that was causing Rocky to stop responding in a simulation with 4 GPUs was fixed.
-A problem in which a simulation would finish abnormally when the SPH Mass Flow Rate module was enabled was fixed.
-A problem in which a simulation would finish without error when the SPH Mass Flow Rate had no surfaces listed was fixed.
-A problem that where the simulation would hang in a project with cylindrical periodicity was fixed.
-A problem related to CFD 2-way coupling simulation and thermally coupled walls running in parallel was fixed.
-A problem that was preventing a Fluent file with japanese characters to be imported was fixed.
-A problem that was resulting in illegal memory access error in a project with a single triangle shell was fixed.
-The problem where the SPH temperature would fall to zero in a multi-GPU run was fixed.
-The problem where the vector of the Angle and Vector orientation was not being normalized was fixed.
-The problem that was causing user processes attached to motion frames to be in a wrong initial position after restart was fixed.
-A problem in which the particles with disabled contact detection would still have contact detection on the initial time step right after saving for restart was fixed.
-The problem that was causing large gaps between sphero-cylinders injected through volumetric inlet was fixed.
-A problem related to material thermal properties on CFD 2-way coupling simulations that was resulting in uncaught exception errors was fixed.
-The problem where the cell volume of a Fluent cell was being incorrectly computed on API:Solver was fixed.
-A problem importing the periodic boundaries of cas.h5 Fluent file was fixed.
-A problem where the Fluent was crashing when trying to export eulerian multiphase flows for CFD 1-way coupled simulations was fixed.
-Some issues related to CFD 2-way Semi-Resolved coupling interacting with shells were fixed.
The problem in which Progress bar would not show up for the Particle Trajectories user process was fixed.
